Hi all,

We want to use a 12V to 40V boost converter and already choose the LMR64010.

However, we found that the SW pin rating is only 40V and the datasheet also say that this converter can output to 40V.

But before the output voltage, it should add a schottky diode.

Then it means this boost converter can never boost to 40V, right?

Hi Jin,

What's the output current do you need? LM5001 is a boost converter output voltage can reach 75V.

Hi Zack,

Actually our load is very light (less 50mA).

But I'm wondering that why datasheet will write it can output 40V? And the rating voltage of SW pin is "-0.4V to +40V"?

Does the datasheet mark the wrong rating of SW pin?

Hi Jin,

The absolute maximum rating of SW is for DC voltage. Normally we would leave some margin when selecting IC. If you already select LMR64010, it's better set the output voltage little bit less than 40V.
