TPS54060: Spice model support for inverting topology

Part Number: TPS54060
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: , TINA-TI

Before I find out the hard way, can you please tell me if the TINA-TI SPICE models for TPS54060 and TPS54060A support the inverting buck boost topology?  Seems there are several device models that have internal nodes tied to ground that prevent this simulation from working properly.

Sorry, I've run into this problem too many times in the last 48 hours, so I'm asking ahead of time...

Thanks, Best, Steve

  • HI Antenna_Head,

These devices do not support inverting buck-boost configuration. As a general rule, all ground nodes in TI's switching power spice models are internally connected to 0V. This is purely a model limitation and does not reflect the part's capability. A few models have been enabled with this limitation removed. These models will explicitly mention as an inverting model.

To find models that support inverting configuration, you can go here.
