BUF22821: What's difference between BUF22821 and BUF20800 ?

Part Number: BUF22821
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BUF20800

Hello,

What's difference between BUF20800 and BUF22821 ? including software and hardware, could I use BUF22821 pin to pin replaced BUF20800 ? I find BUF22821 just have additional 2 channel than BUF20800,  the difference is BUF20800's PIN3,4,35,36 is NC,while BUF22821 is the gamma buffer.

  • Hello Fandy,

BUF20800 and BUF22821 pin out Is similar, a common pcb layout can accommodate both parts.

    Hardware differences:

-BUF20800 outputs buffers need external reference voltages-VREF . These references can be same as BU22821 references- STATIN

    -Analog supply is slightly different: BUF2800: 7V-18V ; BUF22821: 9V-20V

-Pin 21 has different functionality: BUF20800 is used to load the output DAC. BUF22821 it used to select the bank

    Software differences:

    - Loading output DAC's: BUF2800 : LD_pin=low loads the DAC's. BUF22821 : D15=1 loads the DAC's

    Main differences:

    1) Number of channels: BUF20800 - 18 channels. BUF22821: 22channels.

    2) Number of Banks: BUF2800-one bank. BUF22821:two banks

    3) EEPROM: BUF20800-none. BF22821 has EEPROM - max number of write=16

    4) Power On or Reset DAC Output voltage: BUF20800 -(Vrefh-Vrefl)/2. BUF22821- last EEPROM programmed value
