TLE4275-Q1: Question about Stability

Part Number: TLE4275-Q1

Hi Team,

My customer found TLE4275QKTTRQ1 gets oscillating on their prototype board.

Attached is the test circuitry they made for evaluation.

Q.1) Pleas check attached material. (Highest priority)

It looks nothing wrong in setup.

Can you provide measurement result on your Lab with same configuration?

Q.2) Figure 16 in datasheet (Revised November 2014)

I suppose title of X-axis is Load current not Load Capacitance. Could you correct this?

Also, please provide information about Input/output capacitor of this figure?

Q.3) Figure 17 in datasheet (Revised November 2014)

I suppose title of X-axis is Input Capacitance not Load Capacitance. Could you check it?

Best regards,

Nobuo

  • Hello Nobuo,

Can you please resend the customers schematic or attachment?  Nothing came through to the E2E forum post.

    As for the other questions:

A.2) The customer is correct, the X-axis for figure 16 should be in the units of Amps not uF.  We have added this to our datasheet correction log.

A.3) The x-axis for figure 17 is correct.  The x-axis is describing the load capacitance.

For additional details please see the following application report:

  • Hello Nobuo,

I am closing this forum post as we are now communicating over email.

To recap, it appears the output capacitor is a ceramic 22uF, X7R, 1210 case size, 10V rated part.
This will likely not meet the stability requirements in figure 17 of the datasheet.

A dry tantalum in this package size may be a better choice if 22uF is the desired output capacitor.

    Thanks,

    - Stephen
