Hello!

Im building a system with bq24753A for battery charge and power path application. My input current Iadapt varies from 0.5A to 1A and my system current Isystem also varies in time. As I set Adapter Iadapt and Battery Ibat current with resistors (SRSET and ACSET), sometimes I have a situation, when Ibat + Isystem > Iadapt. In this case, charger is switching to the battery input. For that I implemented the DAC setup for current limits. Anyway, sometimes I have a situation, that  Isystem > Iadapt and in this case battery provides the power for the system.

I am wondering, is it possible to build a design in the way, that in case Isystem > Iadapt, all the power from adapter still goes to the system and the rest is taken from the battery? Would it be possible with BQ25713?

  • Hi Daria,

    BQ24753A is buck achitecture, BQ25713 is buck boost NVDC architecture. And BQ25713 is also 800kHz /1.2Mhz switching frequency. So efficiency is not as good as BQ24753. Please keep this in mind. 

    For power management, BQ25713 can meet your requirement. Battery will supplement system when adptor reach current limit.
