BQ24193: Eval kit for BQ24193

Hi,

A very similar question has been asked before, but we cannot see that the answer provides the full info we look for.

We are interested in evaluating BQ24193, and we are aware about http://www.ti.com/tool/bq2419xevm that the other answer points to. Yet, we cannot see that there is an eval kit for BQ24193 listed there. There seems only to be eval kits for BQ24190, BQ24192, BQ24195 and BQ24196. Looking to the user guides there is a PWR021-005 listed that uses the BQ24193, but we cannot find where/how to buy it. Is it available for purchasing somewhere?

Hi,

Unfortunately, there is no BQ24193EVM however, there is a BQ24192EVM. The BQ24192 is the same as BQ24193 except the TS function does have JEITA WARM and COOL. Can you purchase the BQ24192 and evaluate or replace the BQ24192 IC with BQ24193?

Hi,

I found that we have a BQ24195EVM-193 in the office. Would there be any downside in using that kit, if I would be able to replace the BQ24195 with a BQ24193?

Hi,

Yes. However, the PSEL pin will be tied to D+ so you will not be able to use the PSEL feature and USB header J7 at the same time. Also, 195 EVM has the extra FETs on VBUS to isolate OTG at PMID. You will likely want to short across Q1.
