Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2549
Hi,
I'm working on a project which needs to supply > 500 mA to a USB device, but also function as a dual-role OTG device. The TPS2450 works fine for host mode, but there's no way to disable the power output (5V) to USB for a proper device mode.
After a bit of research, I discovered the TPS2549 which supports "Client Mode" in which USB D+ and D- lines remain connected, but the power switch is disconnected. This device also support CDP and SDP emulation, which is perfect for my project.
I just wanted to post this here in case anyone else was interested in creating a OTG device which can supply more than 500mA in host mode.
