TPS61093: TPS61093 Vout=15V at 200mA can be acheivable?

Hi,

Can i able to achieve Vout=+12V with Iout= 150mA atleast, Actually my Load requires 100mA , so for a safer side I was thinking of to have a Source current atleast 30% to 50% more than what the load consumes? Can this be achievable with TPS61093, what could be the effeciency if I operate at 150mA of the system.

Sorry I missed it, I have checked in WEBENCH power supply Design bench,and Simulated the TPS61093, it can safely deliver 200mA. If any improvements from the design, please suggest.

Hi,

The input voltage required is any where between 9V to 15V with Imax= 200mA.

Hi Ayla,

if the input is 9V~15V and output is 12V, we can't use boost converter like TPS61093, in which the VIN can't be higher than VOUT.

we would need a SEPIC topology, could you confirm the input condition?

Hi Jasper Li,

I have mistakenly mentioned Vin as +12V, actually the input varies from 3V to 5V.

Hi Ayla,

at VIN=3V, the device has the smallest output current. which is approximately 150mA for 12V output.

Can you please elaborate, why it cannot able to source the required current? at +3V

Hi Ayla,

because the inductor peak current is limited to 1A typical by the internal FET.
