TPS546C23: Different DS waveforms between TPS546C23 and TPS549D22

Part Number: TPS546C23
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS549D22, TPS548D22,

Hi team,

When I tested DS waveforms of TPS546C23 and TPS549D22, I found some differences. Why the DS waveform of TPS546C23's high/low side switch is different from that of TPS548D22's high/low side switch? In reverse, the DS waveform of TPS546C23's high side switch is similar with TPS548D22's low side switch. Why?

Fig.1 is DS waveform of TPS546C23's high side switch

Fig.2 is DS waveform of TPS546C23's low side switch

Fig.3 is DS waveform of TPS549D22's high side switch

  • Naizeng,

How are you measuring this? Are you using a differential probe?  Would not necessarily expect two different devices and EVMs with different layouts to provide the same waveform.  It would be more instructive to measure both TPS546C23 and TPS549D22 SW node to ground using a differential probe to compare.  Make sure the input voltage, output voltage, switching frequency and load current are the same for each when you measure.

  • John,

I measure it using differential probe. I will adjust the output voltage to the same level and test again.

    Thanks so much.

    Nison
