Hi all,

Does power pad is connected to Vout? Picture as below only said pin 5,6,7 are connected to Vout. How about the power pad? Thanks

Hi Jeff,

The power pad is electrically VOUT, but the is a higher electrical resistance than pins 5, 6 and 7. Maximizing the VOUT copper pour around the power pad and the output pins will help thermal performance. Here is a good application note showing how layout affects thermal performance.
