UCC28C41-Q1: Suppose compensation loop is failed, Let say feedback path is interrupted or open. what is the PWM status for this IC ..??

Hello Ti,

what is the PWM state for this IC..?? During these two conditions:

1. when Feedback  is open or interrupted 

2. when Compensation is open or interrupted

    Hi Anitha,

    If the feedback pin is open circuit then the COMP pin will most likely to high to Vref and the PWM duty cycle will go to max duty cycle. This will cause the output voltage to lose regulation and may result in an output over voltage condition which may of may not damage some power stage components.

    If the COMP pin is open then the PWM control will be unstable and again the PWM duty cycle may increase to max duty cycle and the power stage may be damaged.
