TPS563201: How to select suitable solution from TPS563201/TPS563208 and TPS563200

Part Number: TPS563201
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS563208, TPS563200

Hi

#1

I need to design a 12V DC input and output will be 4V /2~3A  buck , so i would like to choose either TPS563201 (light load at Pulse-skip mode ) or TPS563208 (CCM)  ;But I am not familiar about CCM /eco-Mode which is good for our application  ?  the product feature will be like a smart speaker , normally it would not consume much current when it is in standby statue ( waiting for wave up voice to wake it up)

#2And I noted there is TPS563200 model , is it good for alternative part for TPS563201? What is the pros and cons for those two parts?

ARSIR

  • hi Arsir,

TPS563201 is the next generation of TPS563200. So please select TPS563201 or TPS563208 for your application.

Will give you more explanation for ECO/CCM on Monday.

  • Hi,

TPS563201 is version for low cost, and TPS53200 is the version for high performance.

At light load, the control mode of TPS563201 is Eco-mode, and TPS563208 is FCCM.

For Eco-mode, the switching frequency is reduced to increasing the efficiency at light load. The output voltage is larger because of the lower frequency.

For FCCM, the switching frequency is constant, and equal to the frequency of CCM, the efficiency is lower because of the higher frequency, but the output voltage ripple is lower than Eco-mode.
