LMG3410EVM-018: Mechanical Stability of the module

Part Number: LMG3410EVM-018

Dear Team,

My Customer are trying to design Mother board for LMG3410EVM-018, but it differs than ours that operates an inverter not DC converter.
There question is how to provide mechanical stability for LMG3410EVM-018 in the mother board?
They are using same connectors used in TI Mother board to connect the module to their design but in fact it still moves and not mechanically stable or connected properly.

Any inputs is highly appreciated.

_Renan

  • Hello Renan,

Thanks for asking. We have actually not yet tested the mechanical strength of the EVM as it is mainly for evaluation purpose. If you need a motherboard for mass production, I would not recommend using this pin for contact. But for engineering evaluation, I think they work well on our motherboard. The key here is not only to have a pins on the EVM, but also have the right receptacles on the motherboard. The receptacles can really help improve the tightness of the contact and stability. The part number is 0312-0-15-15-34-27-10-0 from Mil-Max. Also you can find it in the user guide of the EVM.

    Best regards,

    Lixing
