LM5009A: CAn this part be used in a Flybuck design?

I need a flybuck converter that does not require a Power Pad (prototypes will be hand soldered). The LM5009 seems a close fit but it does not have synchronous rectification. Will the LM5009A still work? Is there another device to consider that is capable of at least 70 Volt input, 100 mA, and does not require a Power Pad?

Hi Ronald,

LM5009 can't be used in flybuck as it's non-sync buck converter.

Pls provide below:

Thank you for answering my primary question. Obviously, I suspected that would be the answer but Im new to SMPS design and needed confidence.

I need a dual voltage +/- output that can vary "around" 24 Volts from a supply that varies between 48 and 68 Volts. Load current is small at 50 to 75 mA. So briefly

Vin range 48 to 68

Vout=+24 and -24 Volts (user variable between 15 and 24 Volts if possible)

Load Current 50 to 75 mA.

LM5017 is recommended for your application.
