Dears

we are using the TPS65020 to power up the AM3358, find the 1.5V, DCDC1 have some slop issue, like it is up to a value and then go down and up again, we would like to do this normal? we can not find a EVM, or we can have a test in EVM, thanks.

Are you using the TPS65020 or the TPS650250?

The TPS650250 is a recommended PMIC on the AM335x PMIC Selection Guide, but the TPS65020 is not.

Either there is a typo in the question or the wrong Part Number is being used in the design.

Thanks, we confirm it is TPS65020, a general PMIC and use the EN for the sequence control, so if DCDC1 is not enable, will other rail have some leakage to this rail? we would like to confirm it in EVM. thanks for your help.

You want to order TPS65023EVM-205 to test on EVM.

TPS65020 and TPS65023 are not quite pin-2-pin compatible devices, but they are very close. The only differences between TPS65020 and TPS65023 are: the default output voltages when DEFDCDC1-3 are pulled up to VIN or down to GND, the PB_IN/PB_OUT pins vs. DEFLDO (pins 12 & 13), and TPS65023 is rated for higher current on all DC-DC converters.

If you wanted to put the TPS65020 IC on the TPS65023 EVM, it would be OK. You would not have a push-button for PB_IN/PB_OUT, but you could remove DEFLDO1/2 jumpers and test DC-DC performance.
