LP5036: Discrepancy in the power save mode IQ data of datasheet and EVM board results

Part Number: LP5036
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

Hi,

The low power mode IQ for LP5036 is given in datasheet as 6uA for typical case. I wanted to test this power save mode IQ on TI's EVM board.

To test this parameter , I did the following.

1. Set all the register values to 0.

2. Set the power save mode bit (D4 bit of 01h register) to 1.

3. Have put an ammeter between the VIN_EXT and GND.

With above setting, if I look at ammeter reading, I am getting ~170uA of current.

Could you please let me know why there is a discrepancy in the board and datasheet results and if I am missing something? Thanks for your help.

Best Regards,

Bhargav
