TPS3422: Initial state of TS pin

Part Number: TPS3422

Hi team,

My customer mistakenly left TS pin open on their circuit. When PB1 was kept pushed in this condition, /RST was asserted after 7.5sec.

What is the initial state of TS pin?   TS pin is internally connected to GND after power up as a initial state?

Also, customer mistakenly connected TST pin to PB1.

What problem can happen in this condition?

Regards,

Saito

  • Hi Saito-san,

Leaving the TS pin open is placing it an unexpected condition, and could fluctuate between 0 and 1. In your case, it defaulted to the 7.5s timing. It is in a high impedance state.

For the TST pin, connecting it to PB1 will generally be okay, as long as PB1 is being driven high or low, which it should. We do not recommend leaving TST selecting between low and high, however, and placing it to a proper VCC or GND.

    Thanks,
    Abhinav.
