BQ25120A: Fully integrated PMIC

Dear,

Is there already a fully integrated IC on the market that combines the following IC blocks for powering a wearable Li+/LiPo?

  • Battery charger unit (reference BQ24080)
  • Protection against under/over-voltage and short circuit (reference BQ29702 with internal FETs)
  • Fuel gauge (BQ27421)
  • Buck converter 1.8V with sub load control as in the TPS62740

I found the BQ25120A as an IC for integration of the buck converter (however, configurable and not fixed to 1.8V) and battery charger, but neither I found an integration of the fuel gauge or the protection.

Therefore, will there come a fully integrated IC on the market that combines the following IC blocks for powering a wearable Li+/LiPo?

    Hi Tom,

    The BQ25120A has the charger + BUVLO (which serves as an undervoltage cut-off) + DC-DC converter(1.8V or other) + battery monitor(which serves as a good reference for a 5-bar indicator)

    We also have released the BQ25155 which has an ADC but will require your own algorithms to perform gauging function. It pairs well with a TPS62802 device for a small solution size of <16mm2.
