LMZ10501: LMZ10501: ROHS

Part Number: LMZ10501
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS82084, TPSM82821, TPSM82822

Dear TI Expert,

I  found the LMZ10501 is under in-work status for RoHS.

Could you give more information about when this part will pass to RoHs & Green Compliant?

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

  • Hi David,

    Let me check on this.

What is your Vin, Vout, Iout, and application?  We may have a better device for you, such as TPS82084 or TPSM82821.

  • Hi David,

Would the other devices meet your needs?

  • Hi Chris,

I took a look at the devices that you propose and, at first look. they both seem good options for our application. We will, for sure, consider this recommendations for future designs. However, we are currently using the LMZ10501 in a product that is very mature and we want to minimize the efforts and risks that the change may imply. The main concern is that the part is not footprint compatible and it requires a board redesign.

Is there any reason why you would suggest to change from the LMZ10501 to one of your recommendations? (availability, regulatory, performance, price,...).

Finally, any news about the Rohs3 compliance of the LMZ10501?

    Thank you for your support.

    Best regards,

  • Hi David,

I did just confirm that the LMZ10501 is RoHS and Green.  We will update the product folder, but it may take some time for this to show.

The other devices are newer.  TPS82084 supports higher currents, while TPSM82821 is smaller (and has the pin to pin TPSM82822 which supports 2A).  They are both MSL 2 versus the 3 of the LMZ family.  They also contain a PG pin, which can be useful.  They should be cheaper.

  • Hi Chris,

Thank you for your answer. We will consider the proposed devices in future designs, but for current designs is great to know that the LMZ is rohs compliant!

    Best regards,
