BQ25050: Disabling of TS function

Hi,

We are using BQ25050 for our power design with a 1 cell 3.7 Li battery. Our Battery doesn't have the third pin (for TS measurement).

It is mentioned in the datasheet that in discharge mode, the TS function is always enabled and consumes about 120 - 150 uA (pg 3 in the datasheet). So how, can we permanently disable the TS function so that we can have low current consumption.

Hello

The TS Function is Discharge mode can be disabled by taking /CHG pin low. But the pin would need to be high during charge.

Thanks for the reply.

So you are suggesting to drive the /CHG pin low by our microcontroller's GPIO. But isn't /CHG pin an open-drain output?

Hello

The /CHG pin is an open-drain and typically pulled high with an external pull up. It also has an input option to disable the TS current when pulled below 0.4V.
