Different USB Interface Adapter EVM response time

Hi Expert,

The customer purchased many TI USB Interface Adapter for factory firmware programing needed .

But they found the response time is different from brought from 2017 and brought from 2019.

The customer send a same command and see difference of (brought from 2017 is 6ms) and (brought from 2019 is 16mS).

Pls advice how to check this and make backward compatibility into (brought from 2019) has same response time as (brought from 2017 is 6ms).

Best regards,

Eric Lai

  • Eric:

Not sure which group in TI built this product, but it could be a new revision.

  • Hi Eric,

    A couple of comments:

1- Which product(s) are they programming with the USB-to-GPIO?

2- I think it's possible they received dongles with different firmware revisions on them.Do you know already which version of firmware they have on the older SAA devices? FYI, there can be different firmware builds for some different devices, which is why I am asking which products you're using. And it would be best to loop in someone from the target product team here too.

Do they use the Fusion Digital Power Designer GUI Link ? I am from the team which owns UCD9k and TPS5k devices which use this software and this USB-to-GPIO dongle. With Fusion installed there is an easy way to check the dongle firmware version....

    • There is an EXE installed with the software called "TI USB Adapter Firmware Download" . Open that from the install directory or the start menu.
    • You will see a message about the current firmware version, and a link to download versions in the 1.x version range.

    • If we can find out which version the old dongles have, we should be able to find the ROM file even if it is not in the list.
