BQ24707A: Looking for Evaluation Module for this part number

Hello,

I am currently evaluating the battery charger IC BQ24707, it looks like there used to be an evaluation module (BQ24707EVM-558) but that it is now discontinued. I am looking to utilize one of the EVM modules for another device and replace the ic with the BQ24707 for testing purposes, something like the EVM for the BQ24735/25/15. I have looked at the schematic for the BQ24735 EVM and it looks like the only issue would be the incompatibility between the two ICs on pins 3,4,11.

In the BQ24735EVM-710 module
It looks like pins 3 and 4 are used to control back to back input FETs so these could be bypassed without affecting the charging circuitry
Pin 11 controls the FET which connects the system to the battery which isn't critical for evaluating the charging aspect.

Other those pins the surrounding circuitry looks compatible. Have I missed anything critical, or are the changes that I would need to do to allow this cross functionality?

    Hey Peter,

    This is possible but you will also have the remove several components:

    1) Leave JP1 shunt unpopulated. You may want to remove D2 and replace with a short (either solder bridge or 0-Ohm).

    2) Remove Q3.

    3) You will have to drive the back-to-back FETs to bypass them. This may also involve removing R8 and R9.
