CSD19536KCS: How much lower voltage can be given to the source pin?

Hello Team TI,

I am working with CSD19536KCS. I want to know, how much lower voltage we can give to source pin of MOSFET. Can we give 14V to gate pin and -5V to source pin of CSD19536KCS? It is written in attached datasheet that we can give -20V to Vgs also, isn't it?

Hi Ustav,

Thanks for your interest in TI FETs. You are correct. As long as you stay within the absolute maximum ratings for VGS (+/-20V), then the device will operate reliably. If this is a switch mode application, such as DC-DC converter or motor drive, please check to see if there are any spikes or transients that can cause VGS to exceed the abs max rating specified in the datasheet. In that case, you may run into problems if operating the FET outside the specs for long periods of time.
