TPS1H000-Q1: Minimum Rcl value

Hi team,

My customer want to set the external current limit threshold around 1.5A to limit the upper variation(1.8A max) of the internal current limit.

320ohm of Rcl is acceptable for TPS1H000-Q1? Please advice.

Hello,

After 1A of current limit the device will revert to the internal current limit that can range from 1A to 1.8A so putting this resistance on the CL pin would not set the current limit desired.

Phillips-san,

My customer want to use internal current limit but 1.8A is too high.

So they think it may work fine if the external current limit set at 1.5A. It means the current limit variation range is 1A to 1.5A.

Is it impossible that they use both internal and external current limit at same time?

Hello,

Above the minimum value of the internal current limit the external current limit does not apply. I would not be able to say that the range will be limited to 1.5A by the mode that you have the device in.
