Hi All,

We have bought the BQ76PL455EVM and module is connecting through USB/RS232 to the computer . BQ76PL455EVM-GUI can not connector ( unable to connect com port ).

The cable is connect right, when I measure(oscilloscope) all 4 signals (RX,TX,RTS,CTS) there is no change (nothing).

But when I use other software e.g. terminal emulator all is OK com port is working.

The problem is in BQ76PL455EVM-GUI because output from com port is no changing at all - nothing - no signal.

GUI is installed from Texas sluc584a.zip and com driver from FTDI CDM21228_Setup.zip.

Is there some special setting fo Com port ( bitrate, parity, flow control and so?) I am using (9600, 8 bit, no parity, 1 stop bit, none flow contr.)

    Hi Ivan,

    FTDI is must installed and no special setting is required.

    I am not clear whether you installed the FTDI driver and still having issue or yet to install.

    Have you followed GUI user's guide?

    Also, make sure that EVM is properly power.

    Hi,

    I have followed GUI user's guide and also that EVM is properly power, because on other PC-NB ( my colleague) it is working ok(same EVM module).

    Probably only difference between these two computer is in installed the NET Framework 3.5 environment on PC where the GUI is working OK.

    I will tray resolve a problem in my NB and then will inform you where was the problem.

    Dear Roger,

    I want only to explain my problem off no working Com port on my NB .  The problem about no running com port was in my computer rights control by company.  When was logged to my computer IT administrator the EVM module was working OK. But I had admin rights also but not complete, because  for example copying to USB keys is prohibited in our company. Some programs like datalogers, programmers, terminal emulators etc were working OK now and before only this EVM module doesn't work.
