TPS55340-Q1: buck boost application asking

Hi Sir,

(1)If the part can be used as buck boost application. (Vin varying from 9~36V, Vout=12V, Iout=?)

(2)At Vout 12V condition, what is its max Iout?

(3)Using SPEIC topology for buck and boost application?

(4)Can you suggest the latest part like the TPS55340 one? Or use this continuously?

    Hi Alpha,

    Thanks for your interest in TPS55340.

    1) Yes.

    2) The MOSFET current limit is 6.6A. You can calculate the output current based on the topology.

    3) Yes.

    4) LM5157 would be the latest part. It has 6A MOSFET current limit. But note that it will not be available until the end of this year. If you are working on long term, you could consider LM5157, otherwise, go with TPS55340.
