BQ27510-G3: Create of Golden image file

I checked the Application Report SLUA903.

There is the procedure to disable IT gauging and set cycle count to 0 before saving Golden file.

I think these procedure is needed with all IT gas gauge devices.

How can I disable IT gauging with bq27510-G3? Should we modify Update Status value? or Do we set "IT Enable" register value to 0?

If it is modify Update Status, what value should we set to disable IT gauging?

    Hello Sasaki-san,

    Do not enable IT is the proper way. Update Status only means filters are enabled or disabled.

    However, even with IT bit not set, the gauge may still run some simulations. There is no method to truly disable IT on the bq27510-G3 or any IT gauges.

    In the Application Report SLUA903, There is description that "Before saving the Golden File, set Update Status to 02 to disable IT gauging, set the Qmax Cycle Count to 0, and set the Cycle Count to 0."

    In this sentence, Update Status is modified to disable IT gauging.

    I would like to know whether this IT gauging disable step is required to create golden file or not.

    If it is required, please let me know the way with bq27510-G3.

    Yes, I know IT enable is needed.

    I would like to know about IT disable after learning cycle.

    Hello Sasaki-san,

    Now I understand. No, you do not need to disable IT for golden image.

    Disabling IT after golden means customer need to re-enable it after programming golden image.
