LM43600: About bootstrap resistor

Hello,

Regarding to bootstrap resistor on LM43600, my customer is asking a question.

(Question)

My customer will use bootstrap resistor on LM43600 to reduce switching noise.

They refer SLUA831A application report.

 

Generally, we are using about 2 0hm as bootstrap resistor.

How resistor do they need to estimate on LM43600 as bootstrap resistor?

    HI

    there is no critical limitation for bootstrap resistor. normally, when high side turn on, there is a current go through the  boot resistor make the Vboot-Vsw voltage less than the voltage without bootstrap resistor. Too large resistor will make the voltage drop significant which may trig internal Boot UVLO and high side mosfet can't been turn on. 

    normally , less than 10ohm should be OK, but suggest customer do the full validation in their condition.
