BQ24045: IEC 62368

Part Number: BQ24045

Hi Team,

My customer is using bq24045 for IEC 62368-1 certification. As the below figure shows, one of the standards M4.2.1 stipulates that the IC's input and output are short-circuited directly, and the charging current cannot exceed the maximum current specified by the battery.

However, the customer's actual test found that the maximum current specified by the battery must be exceeded. However, judging by the criteria, as the below figure shows, if the IC meets Clause B.4, this short-circuit test can be exempt.

However, Clause B.4 requires the chip to meet the requirements of Clause 9.

As the below figure shows in Clause 9, the IC only needs to meet the test requirements of G9.2, G9.3, or G9.4 to waive the short-circuit test.

Therefore, it is necessary to confirm with the product line whether bq24045 meets the test conditions of G9.2? Could you please give your comments? Thanks.

Best Regards

Olin Zhang
