BQ24105-Q1: Can BQ24105-Q1 Boost Charge Voltage?

Hi

I am designing a wireless charging system and a BQ51013B is used to regulate a 5V 1A and charge 3S 12.6V Li-ion battery. I think the output stage of the BQ24105-Q1 is similar as a buck converter. 

Q: Can the BQ24105-Q1 be used to step up the charging voltage? If not, is there any charge controller recommendation for this application?

    Dear Max,

    The bq24105-Q1 cannot be used to step up the charging voltage, only down. I would recommend the bq25710 or bq25713 depending if you want to use SMBus or I2C. These parts are buck-boost charge controllers and can be used for 1s-4s charging applications.
