TPS54218: de-capsulation results are different between two date code samples

Part Number: TPS54218

We did de-capsulation for part# TPS54218RTER with two different date codes for our record, one sample was assembled in year 2019 and another in 2012. However, the results observed two die revisions. The internal die marking format including its circuit, part# and TI's logo can match but the only difference is the marking of "PG 1.7" compared with "PG 1.5". Please help to confirm if the information is related with its die revision after 7 years product change. Also please help to verify if the information matched with its date code. Thank you!

Hi,

I would like to inform you that usually we do not share the die marking or other internal design details with the customer. Nevertheless, I still do not understand why you would want this information because it's not the usual case to disclose these details through the portal.

Dear Febin,

Thank you for your reply. We look into the internal die format because we want to verify if there is EOS/ESD damage inside the tested samples. This is the first time we find different die information for the same part#. We think that it may be caused by long life cycle of this part but not sure, that's why we would like to ask the manufacturer if there is such possibility.
