CCS/UCD3040: Support: Getting started

Hi,

I’m a student in electrical engineering at Ghent University and for my master’s dissertation I’m designing a solar harvesting system.

I’m using the UCD3040 to drive four buck converters and thus cannot use the UCD3138.

I’ve already installed CCS v3.3 on a Windows XP virtual machine, but when first opened it sends me to a setup. As I am using a custom setup, I’m not really seeing what I should select.

Are there some guidelines you can give to get me started with programming the UCD3040?

CCS3.3 and windows XP are not supported any more, we recommend to use CCS6.1 and windows 10, also we recommend to use UCD3138, UCD3138 training can be found at :

My design already includes the UCD3040, I need it for the four parallel loops, the UCD3138 only has three.

Is UCD3040 supported in CSS 6.1?

I've already managed to install CCS3.3 on XP, that's not the problem.

My question is, is v3.3 the latest version that supports UCD3040?

When opening CCS3.3 for the first time, I need to select which target I'm using. Since I am using a custom board I suppose I need to create a board, but I have no idea what to select. Is there some information available about this? Also is there some example code available?

Hi Lennert,

You should use ARM7 as your CPU with CCS3.3 and UCD3040.
