LM5161-Q1: Low-Side Current Limit

Part Number: LM5161-Q1

Hello,

When a reverse current hits the low-side sinking current limit ISINK(LS), while the VOUT is kept higher in CCM, for example, how will an LM5161-Q1 behave? Will it move to an ON-time state?

Best regards,

  • Hi,

I believe when the negative current limit is engaged, on the next cycle the inductor current will also rising and hit the peak current limit since the positive current limit is smaller than the negative current limit value and the off timer is engaged.

That's what i remember, unfortunately we do not have an EVM to verify this and currently we have limited access to the lab

    Thanks
