UCC21540A: PSPICE Model from TI.com

Part Number: UCC21540A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC21540

Hi,

I am using the UCC21540A gate driver in a multiphase buck configuration. I would like to know if the pspice model from TI.com has any issues with the shoot through protection and the dead time function?  If there are no known issues is there anything in particular I should know when using this model?

I should add that I am using this model with a simulation tool which is not from TI.com.

Thank you,

HSG

  • Hi, Buddy!!!!!

    Long time, no talk!

    The models have comments in them in what is modeling and what is not.

    For the UCC21540 model:

    Model Usage Notes:
    *
    * 1. The following features have been modeled
    * a. Switching Characteristics such as propagation delay, rise/fall time
    * b. VCCI UVLO and VDDA/VDDB UVLO turn-on/turn-off propagation delays
    * c. Operating Current v/s VDDA/VDDB, switching frequency and Cload at
    * room temperature
    * d. Deadtime and overlap programming
    * e. Peak output source/sink current
    * 2. This model is for 5V UVLO version
    * 3. Temperature effects have not been modeled.

    Please keep in mind, these are behavioral models, and do not 100% accurately reflect the nuances of the IC's operation. In other words, Trust but Verify...
