BQ24171: BQ24171 VISET standard

Part Number: BQ24171

Data sheet

In the VISET standard, the measurement condition is described as Rsense = 10mΩ. Is the standard the same when Rsense = 20mΩ?

  • The equation for calculating max charge current holds for an Rsense of 20 mOhm. However, can you please explain your question in more depth?

    Thanks,

  • Hello. Reply.

8.5 Current regulation of electrical characteristics (high-speed charging) In the VISET item, the measurement condition is RSENSE = 10mΩ and the maximum is 0.8V.
In order to raise the system this time, to raise the voltage between Vsrp-Vsrn to near 40mV
I want to design RSENSE around 50mΩ.
At this time, whether the maximum voltage of VISET is 0.8V or changes
I posted it to want to know.

    Thank you
  • The valid ISET range is up to 0.8 V as stated in the datasheet in section 9.3.2. If you want to use a RSENSE of 50mOhm, your maximum charge current will be 800 mA. This is calculated as 0.8V/20/50mOhm following Equation 2 in section 9.3.2.

    Thanks,
