BQ24296M: Chip ship mode problem

I saw the description that make the REG07[5]=1 and then enter the ship mode. my question is, how long will it be after make the REG07[5]=1, the ship mode will be progressed, and how does the chip work in ship mode?

Or what power supply the chip uses?

Hi,

After setting REG07[5] to 1, BATFET turns off immediately. Please refer to 8.3.1.2.2 Shipping Mode for the details.

Assuming no VBUS, in shipping mode, the battery supports the charger.

but it takes 160sec to disable the watchdog timer (REG05[5:4] = 00). So entering ship mode takes 160 seconds?

Hi,

No. The watchdog timer has nothing to do with the entering ship mode timing. The watchdog timer can be disabled by setting REG05[5:4] = 00.

Please refer to Figure 11. QON Timing on the d/s for the details.
