TPS25200-Q1: nFAULT ESD diode ?

Dear TI team,

is-there an ESD diode between nFAULT pin and VIN for the device TPS25200-Q1?

In our desgin, we would like to apply a voltage on nFAULT pin (3.3V, via a 10k pull-up resistor) when its input voltage is 0V. Will this voltage be clamped by internal ESD diodes? Or is-this possible?

Hi Thomas,

As FLT/ is an open drain pin, there shouldn't be any problem if you apply 3.3V, via a 10k pull-up resistor on the nFAULT pin when Vin = 0.

Hi Praveen,

thank you. Do you confirm that there is no ESD diode between FLT/ and VIN?
I ask you this explicitly because I have already seen devices with an open-drain output and an ESD diode connected to the supply pin.

Hi Thomas,

If any parameter is related to Vin, we would specify that the parameter is a function of Vin in the recommended operating conditions or the Abs Max ratings table in the datasheet.

As you can see this device datasheet does not mention FLT/ as a function of Vin.
