BQ24072: How to achieve SYSOFF function on BQ24072?

Hi team,

My customer would like to add the SYSOFF function in their design, but on the board right now is BQ24072.

The reason to use this pin for preventing the over-discharge and damage the battery.

I noticed that BQ24075 is an input pin, which means it can be controlled externally. How does this function to be implemented on BQ24072?

Hi Raheem,

The Link you share to us, they are using BQ24078.

But from BQ24072 has no SYSOFF pin on this, we would like to know how to achieve it.

Could you please help on this?

Hello Oliver,

One way to do this is my using a voltage supervisor and similar to the TPS3779 to control a FET placed in between the OUT pin of the charger and the system load.
