LM3429: The LM3429 Analog Dimming with NTC

Part Number: LM3429
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS92691

Hi sir,
I need an analog dimming implement for LED load board current regulate with NTC resistor.
Looks LM3429 datasheet scetion7.3.5 result A higher resistance value will source more current into the CSH pin causing less regulated signal current through RHSP.
Is it not good for NTC use, so could you help us to provide a reference schematic for the following our current & thermal curve application? Thanks!

Please do not suggest TPS92691/2, because we have a lot of lm3429 stock.

  • Hello,

It will be hard to implement the thermal current curve that you have above without a lot of external circuitry.  In general, we do not provide detail designs that you are requesting.  As you mentioned, we provide information on how to do adjust the current with dimming equations in section 7.3.5.  Coming up with the circuit to a specific application is up to the end user.  Sorry this is all we can do and as you mentioned there are other parts  from TI that is more applicable to this.

    Thanks Tuan
