UA78: Is UA7805CKTTR pin to pin with MC7805CD2TR4G?

Hi,

we are doing pin to pin replacement and find that both UA7805CKTTR and MC7805CD2TR4G are DDPAK package.

But MC7805CD2TR4G pin 2 is very short and seems not connected to any PCB copper, which is different from our device.

So I wonder if these two are really the same package, although they are all referred to as DDPAK.

Hi Howard,

For both devices, pin 2 is electrically connected to the power pad (pin 4). So they should be able to drop into the same layout.
