TPS7B67-Q1: Voltage tolerance on OUTPUT Pin

Hi Team,

On customer side, we want to use TPS7B6701-Q1 to replace LT3605. For TPS7B6701-Q1, the voltage tolerance on Output pin is -0.3V~22V.

But for LT3605, the voltage tolerance on output voltage is -40V~40V.

This parameter is very important for customer, the output voltage may connect to battery for some failure mode in customer's application.

Could you check it and recommend a suitable device for me? Thanks.

Hello Songzhen,

Is this for a 12V battery system? If so, the consensus is that 22V rating is high enough.

Hi Aaron,

It's for 12V system. But the output may short to battery supply, the voltage may up to 36V on output when the engine system start. There are several failure case for this application.

Do we have the device can meet 40V output tolerance? Customer need to fix the schematic this week, please help us on that.Thanks.

Hello Songzhen - do they expect a short-to-battery and load dump event to occur at the same time?

If they need a device with tolerance up to 40V on the output, I would suggest TPS7B7701-Q1 or TPS7B4253-Q1.
