UCC2895: UCC2895 SS pin clamp voltage and SS behaviour during cycle-by-cycle limiting

Part Number: UCC2895

Hi Experts,

May I check with you with is the clamping voltage for UCC2895 SS pin? Datasheet only mentioned: "In addition, a resistor in parallel with the capacitor may be used, limiting the maximum voltage on SS/DISB", but did not have any further any details of how to design this resistor value.

Also during the cycle-by-cycle, does UCC2895 has internal discharge current to discharge SS pin like UCC28950? or it does not have hiccup mode?

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Wei-Hao

  • Hello,

Figure 10 the block diagram shows that the soft start charge current is based on RT.  The soft start capacitor is discharged with 10 X the current that is set by RT.  The soft start capacitor will be discharged based on faults.  Please review the block diagram and data sheet for details.

    Regards,
