LM3429: LM3429

Part Number: LM3429

Hi,

I have a question about LM3429 IC. Are there any examples of circuits with LM3429 as constant current regulator (without any leds)? Does it differs strongly from circuits for leds? Or I just have to use zero params (Vout, Rout) in equations to choose components?

Thanks for help,

Anton

  • Hello Anton,

It can be used as a constant current into other loads.  It's a controller so it can be used to drive a resistive load as you mentioned above with Rout.  You still have to obey all the equations where you assume Vout/Rout as the current.  The compensation will not follow the equation and you will have to determine that with transient response.

    Thanks Tuan
