TPS7A47: Output Short Circuit

Dear Team,

When TPS7A47 output occures failure of SHORT mode for a long time,
will it work thermal protection, prevent the occurrence of smoke or fire?

    HI Sada,

    If the output of the TPS7A47 is shorted, the device will first go into current-limit and then thermal shutdown. If the short is sustained, the device will thermally oscillate:

    So one average ~160C. A sustained short at the output can impact product reliability.
