LM2941: ON/OFF operation pin

Part Number: LM2941

Hi Team,

Can you confirm the operation of the ON/OFF pin of the LM2941 device? Is the description in the datasheet correct the ON/OFF pin requires a voltage above 2V to disable the output and a minimum voltage of 0.8V to enable the output? Any additional information is much appreciated.

Regards,

Renan

  • Hi Renan,

While it typically turns on/off at 1.3V, you were correct that in order to ensure that all devices turn on across the operating temperature range the ON/OFF pin should be driven below 0.8V and in order to turn off it should be driven above 2V.

If you don't need to use the ON/OFF feature you can simply connect this pin to GND.

If you would like to use a resistor divider to turn the LDO on or off relative to another rail (such as Vin), make sure you size the resistors to account for the 50uA-100uA current flowing into the ON/OFF pin.
