LM27402 as an led drive board with 12v input and 40 A output(3.6v output)?

hello dear,i am looking for an led drive board.my first aim was to use lm3433 but they told me that it is no more availble to use as for LM27402 they recommend it to me for its high power output so the main question is can i use LM27402 as a buck converter as led drive board with 12 v 8 A input and 3.6 v output with output current from 10 or less A till 40 A controlled by pwm.

You could most likely get that to work, but why not consider a part made specifically for high current LED drive such as TPS92640 or TPS92641:

Yes dear thank you for replying, actually i want something easier to design on webenech and tps92641/tps92640 are not found on this software.

Hussein,

Typically you will want to regulate the current for an LED driver and let the voltage fall where it may. LM27402 uses voltage mode control and will require additional external circuitry that will not be supported in Webench. I think you will find that in the end, TPS9264x will be easier to design with for an LED driver application.

Thank you john so can you advice me about the way to design the tps9264x?knowing that it also not found on webenech.

My group does not support TPS9264x, but if you start a new post using either TPS92640 or TPS92641 as the part number, it will be routed to the correct support forum. Please paste a link to you post in this thread and I can make sure someone follows up on it.
