TPS610986: Fixed Output Voltage (3.3v,100mA) Needed

Hello there,

We are designing a battery-powered application and in that we required to convert the 3.3v(100mA requires) from 3.6v battery(LiSOCl2 Non-rechargeable).

Initially, I thought to make 3.3v from the Combination of One Separate Boost Converter + One separate LDO.

So, the question is do we required separate LDO to make a 3.3v if we are using "TPS610986" already ?.

Please Make sure that input to the system is "3.6v". And we want the Iq current in the range of "nanoamps".

I am new to the power design so could you please suggest the best solution for it?

Hope you doing well!

May I know if you need the LDO power all time?

If so, I afraid it hard to remain nanoamps for TPS61098x. TI has ultra low LDO which could be a good choice.

If the LDO is only needed in loading time, you could choose LDO intergrated parts of TPS61098x, and set low mode during sleep. (Saddly, I just found there is no 3.3V LDO)

I hope you are doing great..!

Actually in our application display is also there which will be required to remain on all the time, so yes LDO power needed all the time. And MCU and other circuitry will be turned on based on the nano power timer configurations.

So, any thought on the above solution?

If you care the Iq and efficiency a lot, I'll recommend to use external LDO after TPS61098x. Below is the LDO product link, and you could check the low Iq part with enough capability.
