TPS2373: PMP20859 .bt change to .at

Part Number: TPS2373
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2378, TPS2372, PMP20859

Dear Team,

Below redundant PD is for .bt, if I want to implement .at version just change the TPS2372 to TPS2378, right?

Or you have better total solution or reference design with .at two port redundant?

  • Hello Kevin,

This design is redundant, hitless and smooth transition. Features such as Auto-MPS and the PG pin make hitless and smooth transition possible. If you are wanting those features at a lower power level, I would suggest changing the DC-DC design since the TPS2372 is the PD controller only.

The other challenge is the PMP20859 only has one PD power the DCDC at a time, and this is done with the PG pin. The PG pin is not on the TPS2378, so a new control method will have to be designed, and it does not appear to be straight forward with the TPS2378.

Overall I suggest just redesigning the DC-DC for a lower power stage.
