LMZ30606: synchronization issue

Part Number: LMZ30606

Hello!

I want to use LMZ30606 to supply an FPGA and would like to synchronize the LMZ30606 with a signal from a GPIO pin of the same FPGA.

I guess that it is possible to connect directly the FPGA's GPIO to RT\CLK pin of the LMZ30606 without an 470 pF + 1 kOhm net between them as is stated in Figure 28 of datasheet.

When the FPGA has not been configured yet their GPIOs are in a high impedance state so the LMZ30606 is in RT mode and is switching with frequency set by Rrt.

After configuration the FPGA starts toggling RT/CLK pin so the LMZ30606 switches to CLK mode.

So everything seems OK up to this point.

But what will happen if the FPGA suddenly stops toggling due to some failure and RT/CLK pin stays active at 0 or 1 state?

Will the LMZ30606 continue to work with some frequency or stop functioning?
