UCC28810: Can UCC28810 be used for 400V(about100pcs of LED) with 150mA? 1

Hello guys,

One of my customers is considering using UCC28810 or 11 for their next products.

Their design requirements are the follows.

Vin: 85V~264V

Vout: 400V (to drive about 100 pcs of LED)

ILED: 150mA

Can UCC28810 or 11be used to drive about100pcs of LED with 150mA? Or Do you have any reference design for such application?

Yes, UCC28810 can work for this requirement. The PFC boost stage (page 1 of the schematic) in PMP5739 is an example reference design that's close to this design target.

But I think this reference design is for 26V/4A LED lighting. So it is not suit for the customer requirements.

Do you have any reference design which is suited for the requirments?

PMP5739 is a two stage solution, where there is a PFC boost followed by a resonant LLC DC/DC. The 26V/4A output is on the output of the second stage LLC. The first stage, which features UCC28810, has an output of 410V/283mA. Please only refer to page 1 of the schematic to see this https://www.ti.com/lit/df/slur653/slur653.pdf?&ts=1589285580170.

This is the closest reference we have to the design requirements.

We have seen other customers that have similar design requirements. Devices like UCC28810 and our newer UCC28056 have been used in similar designs.
